The Underground Lounge

Not another bleacher bum haven, this intimate lounge and live music venue is Wrigleyville's buried treasure. Occupying a sublevel space that was a 1930s speakeasy, the Underground Lounge maintains a clandestine character, modernized by blue, black and stainless steel decor. Visiting bands range from rock to jazz, and the exceptional jukebox covers the rest.

Cole's Bar

Cole's Bar Chicago in Logan Square. At this neighborhood tavern with an old-shoe feel, expect a handful of craft beers on tap (including North Coast's Old 38 stout and Goose Island Matilda) cheaper beer by the bottle, local artist's work exhibited on occasion and a roster of free local music. Owner Coleman Brice sees his stage falling somewhere between Cal's and Beat Kitchen, hosting emerging local acts that skew quieter during the week and rock a little harder on weekends.
